Setting goals by Myrtisa Strowder

When I first walked into high school I had no idea what to expect because I heard different stories. The only thing I was thinking about was making it out of high school to my graduation. At the beginning of my ninth grade year I was focused on my work and passing my classes but, things changed when I started hanging out with the wrong crowd. My grades started slipping, and I started getting in trouble more at home. I was on the path of destruction. Instead of me asking my mother can I go somewhere I told her and I started staying out all night. I started smoking, drinking, and partying every week. My mother put on punishment for a couple of months I had plenty of time to think about what I have done. It was very boring. I felt like I was in jail and had lost all of my privileges. When I came back to school after Christmas Break I started to get back on the right track. Staying focused is one of the main key of getting out of high school. I finally got my life together and that why I’m graduating today. Passing your classes on the first try is the best thing to do so you don’t have to repeat the same class over another year. Make the right decision! Do not get involve in no kind of drama that is going to cause you to get suspended and you end up getting behind on your work. The main thing you need to do in the ninth grade is to set a goal, stay focus and don’t let anybody get in the way of accomplishing your goals.
