You will be glad you did it by Porsha Watkins
My first day at Cedar Shoals high school I was nervous. The school was so bog, I thought I would never be able to find all my classes. After a couple of weeks into the school year I got more comfortable. I met new people, made friends, and etc. Entering into your high school year you should NEVER flunk your 9th grade year because it’s hard trying to get those credits back. You should expect school to be more challenging because it’s basically getting you ready for the real world. You are going to see a lot of things coming into a new environment. A lot of peer pressure. Such as sex, drugs, etc. for an example you’re going to come across students smoking in the bathroom and you’re going to have second thoughts about trying it maybe even try it. As well, as a group of teens talking about sex and eventually you’re going to want to try it just to have experience that feeling or situation. Although each year is going to get tougher the toughest year out of all your years in high school is your senior year. You really have to be on track and focused and in order to stay focused you have to hang with the right crowd, don’t be in all the drama, do you work even when you feel lazy. To stay focuses go to your counselor at least 2 out of a month just to make sure everything is on track. Such as, your credits make sure you’re passing all your classes, and passed your entire graduation test. In addition make sure you have sent all of your applications off to your colleges, make sure you have been accepted and so on. You will make mistakes. I made mistakes messing up really bad on my 10 grade year. I was never in class, always late stayed in the hall, never did work, but when I looked back on it affected my gpa, so please stay alert. You will get seniorities really bad the last months. Seniorities is when you feel like its so much work and you get so lazy. You know your high school years are over, you’re about to graduate from high school. All I have to say to incoming freshmen try your best even when there are challenging things coming your way. Freshmen’s is high school hard? Kind of sort of, but fun at the same time just make sure you stay focused, keep updated with your counselor , and don’t be so nervous dare yourself, because when you look back from your 12 grade year you’re going to be proud of yourself that you did it.
